So… what’s up?
I turned 25 this month!!!! For those wondering–I’m a Cancer-Leo cusp. Totally makes sense because I love performing (such a Leo!), but also I scuttle around like a little crab.
Twenty-five feels like a weird year in many ways. As my own mother put it, I’m “so old, but so young.”
When I asked some of the older people in my life what they were doing at age 25, it became clear to me that 25 really can mean wildly different things for people. The only thing in common between everyone’s experiences was that they had nothing in common.
I find that comforting. Everyone is just on their own winding path!!!! Corny but true.
As a birthday gift to myself, I’ll keep this whole thing short.
Oh! I think I can rent a car with less fees now? I should google that.
What have I been working on?
Writing stuff. Hitting up open mics with my musical comedy and it’s been going well! Working on cutting up footage from Queer Window’s live show.
Here’s one of the sketches I wrote for our Pride show: The Gay Shame Parade! I hope you watch and enjoy.
What am I watching?
What We Do In The Shadows – one of my favorite TV shows, based on the mockumentary film of the same name by Taika Waititi. It’s about four vampires who live together in Staten Island as well as their “familiar” (human servant), Guillermo. The third season is coming out September 2nd and I highly recommend using August to catch up (or rewatch!) before it comes back. Episodes are on Hulu.
Who’s making me laugh?
My mom and her four sisters. <3 (Don’t follow them, creeps)
And that’s that!
Made it in justtttt in time. See you in August!!! I have 31 days, right?? Right??
Love, Loie
